It's Like Happiness In A Can

Amongst the Disneyland distractions
Of giant mice
Spluttering ducks
And mind controlled
Puppets

Amongst the sordid hotels
With naked females
Leather whips
And lines of powdered
Ecstasy

Amongst the pepper bombed towns
With twisted shrapnel
spent shells
And children carrying
Loaded guns

Lives a hidden demon
Feeding from us
Each
And everyday
Living off our souls
And pushing us
Into the darkest
Of hidden
Corners
In the hope
We will never find
Happiness
In a can
